Our First Christmas!

This is our first official Christmas and we are already having a blast.  On Black Friday, we bought our tree.  We decided to support the "local" business and bought from Big John's Christmas Trees.  We probably could have bought one from half the price somewhere else, but we sure did score a cute tree! It's about a 6 footer and plump all over.  We hope we don't kill it before December 25th!  Reggie has taken a few sniffs but he knows better...he better know better!

TREE HUGGERS

 Most churches in the south have traditions such as "the hanging of the greens," where people come together, sing Christmas carols and decorate the church.  The Rhymer's do something similar.  It is called "the lighting of the dogs" and it involves Christmas music playing and Christmas lights wrapped around our largest dog.  This big event symbolizes the start of the season.

Auburn/UGA 2011

Every year it is quite an affair, the Auburn vs. Georgia game.  This year it was on the dawg territory so we traveled to Athens and got our butts beat.  Oh well, the experience is always fun and I'm always proud to be an Auburn Tiger!

As you know, Kaydence is a Georgia Bulldog and this year was her FIRST tailgate.  She looked precious in her Georgia dress and although I don't love the dawgs....I love this dawg!

Brock and Brody in ATL

We loved our visit from Brock and Brody in October.  We missed Alicia but she stayed home and enjoyed some time with her mom and sister in Denver.  Brody is growing so fast and is all-over-the-place!  Elaine and Ken bought Brody his very own red mustang power wheels and he quickly learned where the gas was.  He also enjoyed hitting the gas in reverse, too!
Brody went to his first Georgia Tech game and was able to meet Buzz.  He didn't think that Buzz was quite as cool as everyone had said.  Maybe in a few more years.  Clemson got beat that night by Georgia Tech, so the "Clemson Tiger (aka Uncle T)" was sad about that.
The word on the street is that Brock, Brody and Alicia will be back in December and we hope the news is true!

Weekend Getaway - Orange Beach, Alabama

Trent and I enjoyed a weekend away at Elaine and Ken's beach condo in Alabama.  The pups loved it!  Maycie goes nut'so in sand and she too, had a blast.  The drive with the dogs was long but well worth the trip.  

Ken and Elaine fed us well and took such great care of us during our visit.  We are spoiled people!

Trent and I loved our time in Arkansas.  We got to visit FAMILY...the newest Benko couple who just so happens to be one of my best buds, Sarah, and her new husband Jared.  They have created such a lovely home in Arkansas and it was wonderful to spend a long weekend with them.  Coleman, Jared's brother, and their friend Jess also came in town from Georgia.

It just so happened that Arkansas was playing Auburn the weekend that we visited.  Jared was able to get all the guys tickets to the game.  Sarah and I insisted that we would be "ok" to not go to the game.  Whew, that worked in our favor and we got some good hours in talking.  Such a blast!

After Trent and I left Sarah and Jared in Fayetteville, we spent one night in Little Rock.  Trent had some work to do on a building so he checked on that before we flew home.  We enjoyed our evening in the city, but since it was Sunday, it was rather quiet.  

We hope we can visit Sarah and Jared again soon!
