Trent and I spent so much time deliberating over what to call our baby girl. When we found out that we were supposedly having a boy, the name was quite easy. In just a few short days, he had been named. The girl, however, has really thrown us for a loop. After much thought and consideration, we have decided to name her...
Emmalaine Hope Rhymer
Emma was my grandmother's middle name (Madeleine Emma Granger) and Elaine is Trent's mother's name. We squashed them together and came up with a very special name for this very special girl.
We can hardly wait to meet her, but are trying to be patient and let her grow. Her favorite time to be wild 'n crazy is in the evening right after my shower. She likes to dance and I think her "stop, drop, and roll" skills will be mastered by the time she arrives. She seems to be doing that a lot!
Thanks for your continued prayers for Emmalaine as she grows into a healthy baby girl.
Til next time,
Sarah

Shocker!
My, do we have a story to tell! January 23rd was a big day for the Rhymers. A day that we've been waiting on since finding out we were pregnant. It would be our 19 weeks ultrasound and we would get to confirm that our growing little boy was indeed a boy. We invited both sets of grandparents to experience the amazing technology of ultrasound and booked our appointment for later in the day.
We all arrived to the doctor's office and we were just about to see Eli. Before we knew it, the baby was on the screen and had grown by leaps and bounds! Our ultrasound tech began taking measurements and ensuring that baby was growing into a healthy little ham. All was well and we were enjoying every moment, taking in the reality that in just 4.5 short months, we would become a family of three.
Before we knew it, it was time to confirm that Eli was a boy....and the shock of the year happened in those next few minutes. ELI is an ELLIE! We're having a GIRL! I felt my blood pressure skyrocket and my hands tremble. "Are you serious?" "You're kidding!" "Oh my gosh, YAY....it's a girl!" We all stood in shock as we experienced a roller coaster of emotions, the greatest one being pure excitement for our growing little girl.
Since the appointment, our shock has subsided and we have apologized numerous times to her for calling her a boy, and for calling her Eli. Her pictures are lovely, she looks gorgeous, and most importantly, she is healthy!
We are so blessed and cannot wait to see her again in June!
